October has been designated as Mission Month by the Catholic Church.
It is the month during which we reflect on the urgency to proclaim the Gospel in our times.
There are approximately 1,300 Irish born missionaries working in more than 80 countries. They continue to spread the Gospel through their work, their deep commitment to the people they serve and their Faith. In essence, they lead by example and have helped to change, for the better, millions of lives all over the globe.
We thank God for them, for all who support them in our own country and during mission month we unite ourselves in prayer with them and with the communities with whom they work.
