More on St Senan’s
St. Senan’s Education Office was established by Bishops Murphy, Walsh and Murray in April of 2007 to assist those who serve as chairpersons and members of the boards of management of the primary schools under the Bishops’ patronage across the dioceses of Kerry and Killaloe and Limerick. Mr. Joe O’Connell served as Director of the office from it’s establishment in 2007 to Nov. 2009 and was instrumental in developing the range of services and supports offered by St. Senan’s.
St. Senan’s Education Office acts as a first point of contact for the management of catholic schools in the four dioceses. Whilst offering telephone and email support on issues of policy and procedure the office also focuses on the development of good practice and bespoke training for members of the boards of management.
Steering Committee
A steering committee meets regularly to review the operation and functioning of the office and your suggestions are most welcome. The steering committee comprises of the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly, and the dioceses of Kerry, Killaloe and Limerick.
St. Senan’s Education Office addresses regional issues of concern but also liaises on an ongoing basis with the CPSMA; the Catholic Primary School Management Association. CPSMA is the national body for all Catholic primary schools and is involved in supporting all schools as well as representing the voice of management in all negotiations with the Department of Education and Science and other partners in education at national level.
