David Wells

David Wells is married to Alison and has three grown up children. He began teaching in 1985. He worked extensively with the 14-16 year-olds who felt most demotivated. In 1990 he gained an M(Phil) degree from Nottingham University focusing on Effective Methods of Teacher In-service Training. This changed his career path and led him to work for the Catholic Education Service providing in-service training opportunities for staff in Catholic schools. He had roles in the Diocese of Nottingham followed by the Diocese of Plymouth. In early 2018, he established David Wells Live and worked on numerous portfolio projects including a two-year post working with Catechists in the Salford Diocese. He has travelled extensively and spoken at over 2000 conferences worldwide. He has served on several working parties for the Bishop’s Conference of England and Wales and guest-lectured at many Universities. He has written on several occasions for the Tablet and as a published author, his works include; The Reluctant Disciple, The Grateful Disciple and a prayer book “At Your Side” published by Redemptorists. His latest written work is with Bill Huebsch in the USA “The Pastoral Parish in the Modern World”.
